Fuel’ In by Technyl is used for automotive fuel filler pipes or heavy motorcycle fuel tanks
Rhodia Polyamide has announced the launch of Fuel’In by Technyl, a new product family of polyamide 6- and 6.6-based solutions for blow-moulding, developed specifically for fuel contact applications.
The polyamide-based product range provides new solutions for fuel storage and transportation, offering high barrier performance and weight reduction of up to 30 per cent without compromising on safety.
Its benefits are designed to meet the individual needs of the targeted market segments, such as the automotive industry, or the industrial and consumer goods sectors, which are subject to continuous stringent evaporative standards.
Developed on Rhodia polymers chemistry, Fuel’In by Technyl incorporates the already well-established Technyl C 536 XT and Technyl C 548B in addition to brand new products.
Fuel’In by Technyl allows easy 2D and 3D blow-moulding processing into equipment set for HDPE (high density polyethylene) with minor device optimisation.
Its products are already being used successfully on such applications as automotive fuel filler pipes and heavy motorcycle fuel tanks.
Vincent Lajotte, marketing director within Rhodia’s Engineering Plastics SBU, comments: “We are pleased to extend our expertise in Polyamide 6 and 6.6 based solutions to the demanding fuel contact application area with the launch of our Fuel’In by Technyl family. By choosing this new range, Rhodia’s customers will contribute to reducing the environmental foot print of their own solutions, as well as benefiting from the product performance advantages on offer.”
