CUP-BB3 pumps from Celeros Flow Technology combine high-pressure performance with features designed to simplify maintenance.
Maintaining reliability and minimising downtime remain critical priorities for operators of high-pressure pumping systems across the oil and gas, desalination, and power sectors. Addressing these demands, Celeros Flow Technology’s CUP-BB3 pump combines high-pressure performance with maintenance-focused design features that simplify maintenance, reduce downtime, and support extended service intervals in demanding applications.
The CUP-BB3 is a heavy-duty, axially split, multi-stage horizontal pump engineered for medium and high-pressure applications, including seawater injection, refinery charge duties, crude oil and product pipelines, boiler feed systems, and high-pressure reverse osmosis (HPRO). The pump has also been deployed in abrasive services such as sand-laden crude oil transfer, where lower-speed configurations can offer an alternative to traditional screw pumps.
Reducing Maintenance Downtime
Designed for installations where maintenance access is often restricted, including offshore platforms, remote pipelines, and large-scale desalination facilities, the CUP-BB3 enables inspection and balancing activities without complete rotor disassembly. According to the company, complete rotor replacement can be carried out in less than eight hours, helping reduce planned maintenance downtime and improve operational continuity.
Engineering Features for Enhanced Reliability
To enhance reliability in demanding operating conditions, the pump incorporates a double-volute casing to minimise radial thrust and support bearing and seal life, while back-to-back impeller arrangements reduce axial thrust under high-pressure operation. Optional double-suction first-stage impellers improve net positive suction head (NPSH) performance in applications with challenging suction conditions.
Additional features, including flanged auxiliary connections, integral wear rings and a robust rotor assembly, are designed to support longer service intervals and maximise equipment availability.
Performance Capabilities
Built to API 610 and API 682 standards, the CUP-BB3 offers capacities of up to 3,000 m³/h and delivery heads reaching 3,350 metres, with operating speeds of up to 6,500 rpm. Material options include NACE-compliant configurations for corrosive service environments.
Package Solutions and Lifecycle Support
The pump is available as a standalone unit or as part of a complete package incorporating motors, gearboxes, lubrication systems, turbines, controls and instrumentation. Celeros FT also provides lifecycle support services, including commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, re-rating, technical support and OEM spare parts.
Proven Global Deployment
Drawing on the engineering heritage of the ClydeUnion Pumps brand, the CUP-BB3 has been deployed in high-pressure pumping applications worldwide. The company says installations continue to be supported through its global engineering, service and aftermarket network, with a focus on maximising asset uptime and long-term operational reliability.
