Raysut builds momentum with fresh investment wave
Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has announced that Raysut Industrial City attracted nine new projects with a combined investment value of RO6.55 million ($17 million) during the first half of 2026.
The projects were selected from 27 investment applications received during the period and span a range of sectors, including iron manufacturing, mining, food production and services. Together, they will occupy a total area of 32,702.8 square metres.
Madayn also revealed that five underperforming projects were replaced with new ventures in targeted sectors as part of efforts to strengthen the industrial city’s investment profile.
Hamid bin Ali Bait Said, Acting Director General of Raysut Industrial City, said cumulative investment in the industrial city had exceeded RO521 million ($1.35 billion) by the end of June 2026.
He noted that the industrial city currently employs 3,681 workers, including 1,582 Omani nationals, resulting in an Omanisation rate of more than 44 per cent.
“Raysut Industrial City currently covers more than 3.99 million square metres, with developed areas reaching an occupancy rate of about 98 per cent. Future expansion plans could extend the city’s total area to 10.05 million square metres,” he said.
Madayn said it is progressing several development initiatives at the industrial city, including the provision of water and wastewater services for phases two and three, as well as studies and master plans for future expansion areas.
