Construction has begun on several factories and investment projects at Al Suwaiq Industrial City, strengthening the city’s growing industrial base and reinforcing its position as an attractive investment destination in Oman’s North Al Batinah Governorate.

Mundhir bin Ali Al Nasseri, Acting Director General of Al Suwaiq Industrial City, said the city has localised a number of investment projects across various sectors this year, with total investments exceeding RO1.4 million and leased area of more than 80,000 sq m.

“This brings the city’s cumulative investment volume to over RO2 million and the total leased area to more than 90,000 sq m. The projects cover a range of activities, including polyethylene production, industrial oil refining, polymer-modified bitumen and ceramic tile manufacturing,” he said.

Al Nasseri said Madayn continues to attract quality projects and is currently evaluating several recent investment applications. These include proposals for manufacturing multi-purpose electric motors and generators, soft drinks, cosmetics and hand and foot care products.

Spread over approximately 12.2 million sq m, Al Suwaiq Industrial City is a major addition to Oman’s network of industrial cities, offering investment opportunities, competitive incentives and planned advanced infrastructure. The city is expected to generate direct and indirect jobs for Omanis, enable entrepreneurs to launch innovative projects and contribute to higher non-oil revenues.
