Saudi Arabia's Qassim Region has emerged as a leading hub for manufacturing caravans and mobile residential trailers.
Drawing on accumulated local expertise in production and outfitting, the industry caters to the needs of outdoor enthusiasts and campers. Its products feature a wide variety of designs, sizes, and functions, with interest in the sector growing as winter approaches, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.
The caravan industry in the region has evolved significantly in recent years, moving from simple designs intended for road trips to fully equipped mobile living units.
Options tailored to the needs of individuals and families
These modern units include amenities such as seating and sleeping areas, kitchens, restrooms, air conditioning, lighting, and power systems. They offer options tailored to the needs of individuals and families.
Products range from towable caravans and motorhomes built on vehicle chassis to detachable camper units that can be mounted or removed as needed. Sizes, interior spaces, and equipment vary according to intended use, with particular attention to thermal insulation, lightweight construction, and material quality.
Amid growing interest in outdoor activities, the 2024–2025 Camping and Caravan Guide, issued by the National Centre for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, identifies nine designated caravan sites in Qassim Region. This highlights the availability of organised locations for camping and excursions using recreational vehicles (RVs).—TradeArabia News Service
