Alba strengthens leadership team with three strategic appointments
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has announced three appointments to its leadership team.
Layla Al Qassab has been named as Director of Finance, effective September 1; Taimur Tufail as Manager Legal, effective August 23; and Aysha Salem as Manager Organisation Development & HR Analytics, effective September 6. These appointments further strengthen Alba’s leadership capabilities as the company continues to advance its strategic priorities, enhance organisational effectiveness and support sustainable long-term growth, Alba said.

Layla Al Qassab joins Alba with more than two decades of experience in finance, strategy and business transformation. Prior to joining the company, she served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Benefit Company.

Taimur Tufail brings more than 10 years of legal advisory experience across mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and regulatory matters in the GCC and Pakistan. Prior to joining Alba, he was with Al Tamimi & Company.

Aysha Salem joins Alba with 10 years of experience in organisational development, workforce planning and talent management. Most recently, she served as Senior Workforce Planning Specialist at Bapco Energies, where she partnered with leaders to enhance organisational effectiveness.
WSP names new Infrastructure Director for Middle East
WSP, one of the world’s leading professional services consulting firms, has appointed Dincer Mete as Director of Infrastructure, Middle East.
Based in Riyadh, Dincer will support the continued growth and delivery of WSP’s Transport & Infrastructure business across the region, including complex and nationally significant programmes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dincer brings 25 years of international experience across major infrastructure, transportation, engineering, construction and EPC programmes, with a strong track record in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex stakeholder environments and supporting the successful delivery of large-scale projects across Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
His appointment marks a return to WSP, where he previously worked between 2012 and 2017.
Veelenturf named as MD to lead CNS Middle East
UAE-based Ghobash Group has appointed Marc Veelenturf as Managing Director of CNS Middle East. Additionally, he will oversee the Group’s broader technology cluster, as part of its strategy to expand digital capabilities and accelerate innovation in data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Veelenturf brings nearly 20 years of experience in the Middle East and more than 25 years of global leadership in technology and digital transformation. He joins Ghobash Group from Atos, where he served as CEO for the Middle East & Türkiye and Chief Growth Officer for International Markets, leading business growth, strategic partnerships and client transformation initiatives.
Throughout his career, Veelenturf has held senior positions at global technology companies including Nokia, Ericsson, Amdocs, BT, PwC, Mitel and Philips.
Bilfinger appoints Ahmed Al-Dadah as new Segment President International
Industrial services provider Bilfinger has appointed Ahmed Al-Dadah as new Segment President International. He reports to Group CEO Thomas Schulz and becomes a member of Bilfinger’s Group Executive Management Team.

As Segment President International, Al-Dadah leads Bilfinger’s operations across the US, Eastern Europe, Türkiye, and the Middle East.
With 25 years of experience in the global energy industry and industrial services. Most recently, Al-Dadah has served in senior executive leadership positions at the Sovereign Wealth Fund (PIF) in Saudi Arabia, at KBR globally, and multiple international leadership positions in the energy industry.
