Abu Dhabi Mar takes stake in German yard
Yacht builder Abu Dhabi Mar says it has bought a controlling interest in the Nobiskrug Shipyard, in Rendsburg, Germany.
With 100 million euros in turnover, the shipyard has been in existence since 1905 and launched more than 700 vessels.
Abu Dhabi MAR, established two years ago, shares common ownership with the CMN Shipyard in Cherbourg, France, and currently has four yachts under construction.
Etihad selects Descartes
Descartes Systems Group, a global on-demand software-as-a-service (SaaS) logistics solutions provider, announced that Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Crystal Cargo has selected Descartes Cargo 2000 to help the airline comply with business process and automation standards established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
GAC partners Agora
Dubai-based GAC Shipping has formed an alliance with Agora Worldwide Shipping Agencies to provide ship agency services throughout all major ports in Italy.
The services will be provided under the common brand “GAC-Agora.”
Established in May 2006 by leading shipping professionals with long experience, Agora has 16 offices directly covering 25 key Italian ports. Agreements with approved sub-agents increase its coverage to 51 ports.
Yes for train firm
UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved a federal law decree for the creation of an independent rail company which will be involved in the transporting of goods and passengers. It will operate under the name Etihad Trains Company.
