Almajdoue Group has bagged the award for the best road hauler at the third annual Middle East Logistics Awards (Mela) 2009.

Winners were determined through votes cast by clients, industry peers, and members of the Middle East logistics community.
Syed Mustafa, vice president of the group, said winning the Mela award underlined its “well-established presence and penetration” in the international logistics industry.
Mustafa said it was really a tribute to Almajdouie’s dedicated teams that provided “unparalleled and innovative” solutions.
The Almajdouie Group was established in 1965 by Shaikh Ali I Almajdouie, chairman, who developed it from a company having just one truck to substantial assets across 13 logistics companies operating in the region.
It is engaged in transportation including heavy and abnormal transport, logistics and distribution, petrochemical logistics, container terminals and warehousing services, customs clearance and freight forwarding in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. The group has associate offices in North America, Europe, the Far East, the Middle East and Africa.
Almajdouie operates in the UAE market through its joint venture company Maxx Logistics. Jebel Ali-based Maxx Logistcs recently opened a new multi-purpose logistics facility in Jebel Ali with an investment of more than Dh50 million ($13.6million), further consolidating its Middle Eastern operations. It also established the firm MSPC Bahrain and recently established an office in Abu Dhabi for project logistics and handling of abnormal heavy and super-heavy cargo.
Mustafa said the group followed the most modern style of management and had developed from a strong and solid foundation. The expansion of its activities and the achievements it realised were due to the group’s attention to quality.
