Spanish manufacturer Juaristi supplied during 2008 several boring and milling machines to Hadeed, Sabic’s steel company. Established in 1941, Juaristi has been present in Saudi Arabia since 1998 and has Alruqee Machine Tools as its agent in the kingdom.
It manufactures around 40 machines every year for a turnover of 35 million euros annually, and as many as 90 per cent of the machines are exported to global markets.
It supplies to all European countries, the US, Canada, Brazil, Turkey, India, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Libya, Algeria and Saudi Arabia, among other places.
Juaristi’s product range encompasses T-type boring and machining centres (up to X=6000), floor type boring and milling machines (up to Y=6000 and X=40.000) and rotary tables (up to 140 tonnes capacity).
The company serves the sectors of power generation, transport, construction, equipment and machinery and subcontracting. Customers include such well-known names as ABB, Airbus, Aker Kvaerner, Bombardier, British Aerospace, Dassault Aviation, Flowserve, General Electric, KSB Pumps, Komatsu, Krupp, Rolls Royce, Siemens and Tata.
“Thanks to the wide experience in so many sectors, Juaristi can propose a more suitable machine for each application, with all standard and optional accessories. In addition, with the component drawing, it provides a complete machining process analysis when a turnkey project is required,” a Juaristi spokesman says.
Providing details of the company’s offerings, he says the MX7 floor type boring-milling machine has a very robust thermosymmetric structure, a great variety of heads with the very last technology: automatic universal head 0.1؛ x 0.1؛ with oil-air lubrication system, twist head, CNC facing head and horizontal boring heads.
Extraordinary flexibility is achieved thanks to the automatic tool changer (120 tools), automatic head changer (pick-up station for four heads) and rotary table with up to 140,000 kg capacity, allowing the centering, milling, drilling, boring, tapping, facing etc on five sides of big components in just one set-up.
Reliability and robustness are some of the main aspects of this machine, being all structural components made of nodular and alloyed cast iron.
High accuracy is guaranteed by means of the dynamic RAM compensation system and optimal guiding system, both vertical and RAM travel. They are equipped with four linear guides and are symmetric to the column.
TX and TS machines are big boring and machining centres with an innovative design with a centered head on the column and strong and oversized components that allow heavy cutting capacity and high dynamics.
Different models are available: horizontal machining centres, boring machines, universal machines and five-axis machining centres.
Rapid feed up to 25 m/min, spindle speed 5,000 rpm (mechanical version) and 24,000 rpm (electrospindle), main motor power 37 kW or 51 kW (S1-100 per cent), table B-axis as contouring axis (fourth axis), X axis up to 6,000 mm and Y axis (vertical) up to 3,500 mm, table size up to 2500 x 4000 mm with 30,000 kg capacity, are some of the technical features of these machines.
Besides the standard equipment, the machine can be equipped with ATC up to 180 tools, coolant through spindle, pallet changer, additional heads, automatic head changer, workpiece and tool touch probes etc allowing in many cases to accomplish the whole machining in just one setup, reducing drastically the workpiece handling and preparation time.
Juaristi described Alruqee Machine Tools as the perfect partner with a wide sales network and a very powerful after-sales service.
The company is based in Azkoitia (Gipuzkoa), Spain (www.juaristi.com). Alruqee Machine Tools is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia (www.alruqee.net).
