Roborock broadens its robotics horizon

Roborock: expanding from robotic vacuums into a broader ecosystem of intelligent machines

Roborock is leveraging its position as the world’s leading robotic vacuum brand to accelerate a broader robotics strategy, expanding its portfolio beyond indoor floor cleaning and into a growing ecosystem of intelligent solutions designed to automate household maintenance.

The company retained its No.1 global ranking by both unit shipments and sales value among robotic vacuum brands in the first half of 2026, according to IDC. The achievement further cements Roborock’s dominance in a market where competition is increasingly driven by technological innovation, premium products and smarter user experiences.

The milestone comes as the global robotic vacuum sector continues to mature. IDC reported worldwide shipments of 7.885 million units during the second quarter of 2026, with leading brands accounting for an increasing share of the market as consolidation gathers pace.

For Roborock, sustained investment in research and development has been central to maintaining that leadership. The company continues to focus on AI-powered environmental perception, intelligent navigation, robotic mobility and advanced cleaning technologies. Those investments are translating into strong financial performance, with first-half 2026 revenue rising 27.6 per cent year-on-year to approximately $1.5 billion (RMB10.084 billion), while net profit attributable to shareholders increased 45.6 per cent to $147 million (RMB986 million). During the period, R&D spending reached $107 million (RMB720 million), equivalent to 7.14 per cent of revenue.

“Our mission is to give time back to our customers by automating everyday tasks,” said Quan Gang, President of Roborock. “Building smarter robots is the means, not the goal. Every minute spent on housework is time taken away from family, passions and personal well-being.”

From floors to pools: Roborock’s bigger vision

Beyond the Robot Vacuum

That philosophy underpinned the company’s showcase at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where Roborock unveiled a range of products that signal its ambitions well beyond the robotic vacuum segment.

Leading the line-up were the flagship Saros 20 Flow and Qrevo Edge 3 Pro, both designed to tackle increasingly complex home environments. Equipped with 36,000Pa HyperForce suction and the upgraded AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, the platforms are capable of crossing double-layer thresholds of up to 8.8cm while navigating around household obstacles with greater precision.

The Saros 20 Flow combines powerful suction with a roller mop system for deeper floor cleaning, while the ultra-slim Qrevo Edge 3 Pro is engineered to access hard-to-reach spaces beneath furniture without compromising mapping accuracy or navigation performance.

Roborock also expanded its floor-care portfolio with the F25 Ultra Steam Gen 2 and F25 Pro Turbo Combo. The former combines high-temperature steam and hot-water cleaning to remove stubborn stains, while the latter offers a flexible 5-in-1 configuration that transitions between wet-dry and cordless vacuum cleaning modes.

Taking Automation Outdoors

Perhaps the clearest indication of Roborock’s broader ambitions is its continued push into outdoor robotics.

At IFA, the company introduced the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR, a robotic lawn mower capable of maintaining areas of up to 800 sq m. Leveraging Sentisphere LiDAR environmental perception and ReactiVision Fusion obstacle avoidance, the mower delivers precise lawn care without the need for perimeter wires or antenna installations.

Roborock also entered a completely new category with the debut of the RockAqua P1, its first robotic pool cleaner. Designed to clean floors, walls, waterlines and shallow platforms, the autonomous system combines advanced navigation, obstacle avoidance and dirt-detection technologies with a powerful suction system and dual-filtration design.

The launch extends Roborock’s expertise in autonomous cleaning beyond the interior of the home and into broader property maintenance applications, reinforcing its ambition to create a comprehensive intelligent cleaning ecosystem.

Building on Global Leadership

Roborock’s expansion strategy is supported by a global presence spanning more than 170 countries and regions and a user base that now exceeds 30 million households worldwide.

As intelligent cleaning evolves from single-purpose devices to connected, full-scenario ecosystems, the company sees opportunities to deploy its robotics expertise across a much wider range of everyday tasks. Its move into lawn care and pool maintenance reflects a growing vision of household automation in which robotic systems manage multiple aspects of home upkeep with minimal human intervention.

That pursuit of continuous improvement is also reflected in Roborock’s partnership with Real Madrid, a collaboration the company says is built on a shared commitment to excellence and sustained performance.

“When the world’s number one in smart home robotics joins forces with the greatest football club in history, it is a partnership built on shared ambition,” said Quan Gang. “Like Real Madrid, we never rest on past achievements. We continue to push the boundaries of what is possible and strive for excellence for our global community.”

Having secured its leadership in robotic vacuums, Roborock is now positioning itself for a larger opportunity. From floors and furniture to gardens and swimming pools, the company’s latest innovations suggest its future ambitions extend well beyond cleaning, toward a more comprehensive vision of intelligent living powered by autonomous robotics.
