Martin advances in region

The Downtown Garden, where Martin implemented a lighting contract

Martin Professional Middle East  (MPME) says it is making inroads in the region’s architectural and entertainment markets with the completion of several prestigious projects in recent months.

Denmark-based Martin produces and distributes computer-controlled lighting, also called “intelligent” lighting, and high-technology luminaires as well as Mach speaker systems and Jem smoke machines.
Other important areas of application include the growing market for indoor and outdoor architectural and promotional lighting.  The company offers both dedicated exterior luminaires and specialised lights for retail settings
In the region’s architectural sector, it completed several contracts including those at Sheraton Hotel, Dammam; Dubai Airport; Fairmont Hotel, Dubai; the Kempinsky in Abu Dhabi, Mall of the Emirates Ski Dome in Dubai and Downtown Gardens, Beirut.
Projects MPME completed in the entertainment sector included the Dubai TV studios; Magic Planet at Mall of the Emirates, the Chinese boat at Ibn Batuta Mall, Dubai; Future TV studios, Beirut; the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club and Moscow Hotel, Dubai.
“Demand for architectural lighting in the UAE and the rest of the Gulf region is increasing with the speed of developments in the entertainment and architectural sectors,” says MPME marketing executive Bilal Assidi.
“At Martin we are driven by design — from traditional classics to eye-catching modern themes. Each product is carefully designed to deliver optimum performance and is constructed from the highest-grade materials and components,” says Assidi.
“We incorporate and innovate lighting solutions in architectural and interior designs that uplift the building environment; we expand daylighting design options to the tastes of architects, designers, and contractors. Besides, our systems create diffused daylight, balancing natural light transmission and energy efficiency, while minimising glare and heat gain.”
Recently, Martin presented an opportunity to explore the fundamental role of light in public and urban spaces with three leading experts. It held three educational presentations, namely Crossing Cultures, City Lights and the Creation of Night-time Destinations with Light.
One of the projects Martin is proud of is the Downtown Garden in Beirut, which was accomplished with the collaboration of LightBox, MPME’s Lebanon distributor.
“The project used Exterior 200, CMY150 Supervision fibre optic cables, lenses and accessories and had the artistic touch of Vladimir Djurovic, the lighting designer,” said Assidi.
