
Saudi Arabia’s Abahsain is establishing a state-of-the-art glass fibre manufacturing facility in Bahrain in a joint venture with US company GSI.
Abahsain, among the top 60 Saudi companies, will have its facility at Bahrain International Investment Park. The project will employ 195 people at full production and utilise an area of 50,000 sq m.
The park has received commitments from eight companies with a total investment of $74.1 million.
Bahrain-based Global Logistics Services has also teamed up with record management Info-Fort Middle East to develop an outsourced data management service for banks and other financial companies. The project will create 50 jobs.
Stainless steel fabrication company Al Jazira Cooling and Heating will create 45 employment opportunities when it opens at the BIIP.
Box Makers, owned by the P Haridas Group, will enroll 1,000 staff at full production. The company already operates a box-manufacturing plant in Bahrain.
Ramez International is establishing a manufacturing facility for plastic and paper products. It will have a staff of 100.
Japanese technology company Yokogawa is building a plant to assemble, engineer and commission the company’s control systems for the region.
Bahraini company Oriental Press is establishing a printing operation, which will provide up to 250 new jobs. Maskati Brothers and Company will establish a manufacturing facility for paper, plastic and aluminium foil products.
