Det Norske Veritas (DNV) recently certified Jotun UAE to the ISO 9001: 2000 standard for its quality management system. 

The audit covered all aspects of the standard and included Jotun UAE’s distribution network in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
Jotun UAE, which manufactures decorative, marine and protective coatings, recently relocated its head office in the Al Quoz industrial area.

Construction of a new production facility capable of producing 50 million litres of paint products annually is in progress and completion is scheduled for early 2004.
“The successful implementation of the ISO 9001: 2000 quality standard represents a significant achievement for the company and has provided an opportunity to design a quality management system that achieves business excellence,” said managing director of Jotun UAE Erik Aaberg.

“Advanced process mapping techniques were used to identify and link the company’s key business processes. The integration of the Jotun UAE strategy into its Quality Policy and Quality Objectives has resulted in a system that measures and monitors key performance indicators and which will lead to continual improvement,” a statement said.
