Storage area for AGM pipes and fittings

Turnover at Arabian Gulf Manufacturers (AGM) Group, producers of a range of plastic products, has crossed SR700 million ($187.3 million), the company announced.

It said its assets had exceeded SR400 million and stressed it held the 42nd rank among the top 100 Saudi companies.
“AGM Group’s products have a strong customer base both in domestic and overseas markets and our export destinations are the UK, France and North Africa as well as the entire Middle East. The products of AGM have also found their way to Eastern Europe, Pakistan, Singapore and Finland,” the company said recently. “AGM is already an expanded group but is still undergoing expansion in some of the household products to meet demand from customers.”

Shaikh Hashem Sadek Hashem established AGM in 1963. The first production facility in Jeddah had an area of 300 sq m and was devoted to the making of PVC shoes. AGM moved its factory to another place in Jeddah that had an area of 18,000 sq ft. Here it diversified, manufacturing such products as PVC pipes and fittings, soft drink crates, edible oil containers, thermoforming disposable items, high impact sheets for refrigerators, polycarbonate water bottles and food and dairy cups.

AGM moved again to a location in Jeddah Industrial City. The group now operates across 100,000 sq m with the most advanced technology and machinery. It has developed a strong partnership with Shaikh Sulaiman Al Rajhi.

“AGM has a vast range of products and is one of the largest and first plastic converters in the region,” a company spokesman said. “Products such as PVC pipes and fittings (brand name AGM pipes and fittings), household items (Gulfmaid) and specialised films for various packing applications (Gulfwrap) are well accepted in the domestic and export markets. Also doing well are our other brands including Lexogulf and Gulfcolour,” he added.

The company’s CPVC and UPVC pipes have gained the ISO certification, with other products expected to receive similar recognition in due course.
