Saudi Steel Pipe expands footprint with Aramco deal

Saudi Steel Pipe’s project pipeline continues to grow

Saudi Arabia’s energy supply chain continues to generate new opportunities for domestic manufacturers, with Saudi Steel Pipe Company (SSP) securing a fresh contract from Aramco valued at $19.2 million (SAR73 million) for the supply of steel pipes used in oil and gas operations.

The award highlights SSP’s long-standing role in supporting the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure ambitions. As one of the region’s leading producers of electrically resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes, the company serves a broad range of customers across the energy, industrial and construction sectors throughout the Middle East and North Africa (Mena).

Under the latest agreement, SSP will supply steel pipes for Aramco projects over an eight-month execution period. The company expects the financial impact of the contract to be reflected in its results during the second half of 2027.

The new award further reinforces the strategic relationship between SSP and Aramco at a time when investment in upstream, midstream and offshore energy projects remains robust across Saudi Arabia. The contract follows a series of recent wins from the national oil giant, including orders collectively valued at SAR284.7 million ($75.2 million), underscoring continued demand for locally manufactured pipe solutions.

SSP’s product portfolio spans a comprehensive range of oil and gas applications, including oil country tubular goods (OCTG), line pipe, API and premium connections, as well as associated accessories and technical services. This breadth of offering has positioned the company as a key supplier to major energy developments across the region.

Momentum has also extended beyond its core operations. Earlier this year, Global Pipe Company, one of SSP’s consolidated subsidiaries, secured a significant SAR300 million ($80 million) supply contract from Subsea Seven (SS7), a global offshore energy engineering and construction specialist.

The agreement will see Global Pipe Company provide specialised line pipes for a major offshore redevelopment project being executed by Subsea Seven, with deliveries scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Taken together, the recent awards point to a healthy project pipeline for the Saudi pipe manufacturer and reflect the continuing localisation of industrial supply chains supporting the Kingdom’s energy sector. As major operators push ahead with conventional, offshore and infrastructure developments, domestic manufacturers such as SSP are increasingly positioned to capture a larger share of project spending while strengthening Saudi Arabia’s industrial base.
