Fine, a market leader in the Middle East’s hygienic paper industry, has announced commencement of work on a manufacturing facility it is building in Iran.
The plant is coming up in the Qazuin Area, 130 km from Teheran. “The topography work for the unit that will be built on an area of 30,000 square meters has been completed, while soil testing and planning are currently being finalised. The facility is expected to be up and running by the end of 2007,” a Fine statement said.
The new factory will accommodate production lines to manufacture the entire range of Fine’s products including adult briefs, baby diapers, sanitary napkins, toilet rolls, kitchen towels, pocket tissues and facial tissues. “The facility in Iran will be on a par with Fine’s other manufacturing units in the region and will have machinery and equipments purchased using the ‘Best Available Technology,’” the statement said.
Peter Janho, Fine’s chief area officer for the Arabian Peninsula and Iran, said the company saw huge potential in the Iranian market and that its decision to set up the facility there fell in line with its “aggressive” regional expansion plans. The fast-growing demand for the company’s products across the region had necessitated a capacity expansion.
“Iran’s investment-friendly policies and the projected growth of the country’s economy were key factors that influenced us to set up a full-fledged manufacturing facility in the country,” said Janho.
“We hope to distribute our range of products across Iran and make Fine a household name in the country, just as it is in other countries of the region.”
In the UAE, Fine has a manufacturing unit at the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai that is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, employing around 300 staff. The company says it has a presence in most of the Middle East countries including Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the UAE, and also in the USA.
Fine is the brand name of a wide variety of products produced by Nuqul Group’s Fine Hygienic Paper Companies spread across the Middle East, with its headquarters in Jordan. Brands that the company markets include Finies, Lido and Baby Fine (diapers), Cinderella and Lady Fine (feminine sanitary napkins) and Smile (facial tissues and toilet paper rolls). Products under the Fine name include kitchen towels, jumbo rolls, adult briefs and refreshing towels.
