Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed) has signed a contract with Outokumpu Technology OYJ for its pelletisation project.

The Finland-based company will provide basic engineering services for pelletising Hadeed iron by-products in Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia.
The study and other related activities will be completed by the end of third-quarter 2007. The pelletising project will provide Hadeed, a Sabic affiliate, with 600,000 tonnes per year of pellets.
The contract was signed at Sabic’s engineering and project management office by Abdulaziz Al-Humaid, president of Hadeed, and Outokumpu Technology officials Manfred Tapfer and Vesa Hirvonen.
