Victaulic, a leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, is relocating one of its senior engineers to Dubai to expand its engineering services in the Middle East, one of the fastest growing markets for the company.

David Hudson, senior product engineer for Victaulic, will officiate out of Victaulic offices in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. “Having somebody on the ground for setting up the engineering office and to provide local engineering support is extremely important for our growth plans and expectations for the future,” says Rami Mahmoud, Victaulic regional manager for the Middle East.
In addition to its engineering services division at its headquarters in the US, Victaulic also has engineering services groups in Europe and Asia.
Having spent the past 25 years in the US Engineering Services Department, Hudson will provide local technical expertise and a focus on grooved product applications within piping system designs for upcoming building projects throughout the ME.
Hudson’s responsibilities will include offering technical support to existing customers and demonstrating the capabilities of the grooved pipe joining system to potential customers through training, engineering seminars and one-on-one demonstrations.
He has written extensively on grooved mechanical piping and directed Victaulic activities with approval organisations such as UL, FM, AWWA, the US Coast Guard, the American Bureau of Shipping and other international agencies, regarding the acceptance, testing, listing and approval of Victaulic products for specific applications.
