

Germany-based Lapp Group, one of the leading global suppliers of cable technology, has announced plans to establish a manufacturing plant in the Middle East.
The group officially opened its Middle East and Africa (MEA) regional heaquarters in the trading hub of the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.
“Lapp Group’s advanced cabling products are in demand in several sectors including industrial, aviation, communication, technology and construction, all of which are experiencing growth and development across different markets in the MEA region,” a Lapp spokesman said.
Since branching out into the Middle East, family-owned manufacturer Lapp Group (annual turnover over $1 billion) has invested close to $1.5 million on the office premises, human resources and stocking up with the latest cabling products.
As well as a manufacturing facility, the group plans to develop aldditional sales offices in the region, among other things.
Headquartered in the Stuttgart-Vaihingen area of Germany, the Lapp Group has close to 40 years of extensive experience in the cable technology industry across the globe. It is acknowledged as a world market leader for highly flexible cables, connection and control cables, data and fibre optics cables and industrial connectors and systems.
Key projects the group supplied to relate to Dubai International Airport – new terminal; the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; the Dubal expansion; the Rabigh Refinery in Saudi Arabia and the Qatar Refinery. Its recent international projects include: stage technology for the Rolling Stones world tour, Terminal 2 at Munich Airport, wind turbines, base camp equipment for a Himalaya Expedition, a new opera in Peking and Öresund Bridge.
