Commitment to quality and service has been the key to its success, says House of Chemicals (HOC), one of the pioneers in the field of chemical supply in the Middle East and Africa region.
With offices located in Dubai, Jebel Ali (HOC ME FZE), Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Qatar and associate offices in Oman, Bahrain and Yemen, the company is able to serve the entire region.
Founded in 1985, HOC is one of the leading distributors of chemicals to a wide range of industries such as oilfield, petrochemicals, lube oil, refineries, mud-drilling fluids, cementation, desalination and reverse osmosis plants. It also supplies to galvanising and coating industries; effluent and sewage treatment plants; marine and petroleum-processing industries; paints and fibreglass factories; food industries and soft drink plants; adhesive and other allied industries; aluminium and other metal processing industries including foundries and steel mills; cement and other mineral processing industries; manufacturers of polymers, plastics and pumps for drilling and oil and chemical spill response.
HOC also supplies laboratory chemicals, reagents, glass and plastic ware and apparatus, laboratory and analytical instruments, construction and material-testing equipment, including soil tests on rigs, fire testing and thermal insulation equipment, and petroleum-testing equipment.
Other supplies include chemicals for geological and survey equipment; corrosion laboratory equipment, environmental-monitoring equipment, process control and instrumentation, medical instrumentation as well as expertise in complete lab designing and furnishing as well as mobile laboratories.
“Having our own building for offices and a large warehousing facility enables us to be a successful and competitive supplier to any of the multinational or local companies,” says Narendra Pandya, company managing director.
In addition to these facilities, the company has transfer pumps and bulk storage ISO tanks ranging from 20,000 to 60,000 litres with specific features like internal coating (epoxy or zinc) and stainless steel tanks, which make it possible to handle and transport a wide range of solvents. Its transporting facility includes trailers of 40 feet, 5-tonne and 10-tonne pickups and a fleet of vehicles for after-sales service. A sophisticated, specially designed fire fighting facility allows storage and handling of highly flammable products.
“Our personnel have deep technical knowledge, which has resulted in specialist supply arrangements with international companies involving bulk handling of chemicals with ease and safety,” says Sylvia d’Costa, group general manager.
“In order to set standards of excellence, we have put in place a team of qualified and trained sales, service and application support engineers for installation, commissioning, training, maintenance and application support that is committed to a quality approach,” said d’Costa.
