A factory specialising in the manufacture of high-carbon wires has opened at the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Industrial Park.
Kriss Wires Factory, whose wires can be used in construction, furniture and stainless steel products such as watch needles, pins, clips and rods, was officially opened by Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qassimi, chairman of the free zone authority.
The factory was set up by a group of Indian businessmen. Oussama El Omari, director-general and CEO of the free zone, said the plant was among a few of its kind in the UAE and had the capacity to produce 1,000 tonnes of carbon wires monthly.
The official also said it was constructed on 3,000 sq m and had been granted all facilities to achieve its maximum capabilities. He also confirmed that the partners would be diversifying into other products in eight to 10 months.
Vishal Chhabria, one of the partners, commented he was impressed with the professionalism and customer-friendly approach of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone as well as the facilities it offered. “Hundreds of Indian companies have already registered with the zone and hundreds others will be registering in order to start their new bases in Ras Al Khaimah” he said.
“The zone truly offers an ideal investment environment for all types of businesss and activities.” He revealed that production at the new plant would double within six months while there would also be an increase in product variety to meet the needs of the local markets and to export beyond the Middle East region.
