Clipsal Middle East recently completed a second-phase expansion to its production capacity and is in the process of moving on to the next phase.
The plant, located in the Sharjah Airport Free Zone, was built in 2003 and produced 150 km of PVC conduits per day, consumer switchboards and a budget range of switches before the latest expansion, which increased the capacity of conduits by 50 km per day. The third phase, which will be completed by 2007, will contribute another 100 km per day. The second and third phases cover consumer switchboards and a budget range of switches.
Before beginning its manufacturing activities, Clipsal ME had been operating since 1996 at the free zone.
At the beginning, the product range was limited only to 200. Today, the company offers more than 9,000 different items. “Clipsal Middle East has observed a combined growth annual rate (CGAR) of 70 per cent, which is a remarkable achievement in the history of the company,” says Lalu Samuel, managing director.
Clipsal originated in Australia in 1920 when Alfred Gerard devised a range of adjustable conduit fittings, which clipped all different sizes of conduits.
A world leader in electrical installation and control systems, it offers the latest range of integrated building control and automation systems to meet the increasing demand for intelligent buildings.
“With the latest range of products such as the Clipsal Premise Gateway and Colour Touch Screen integrated with C-Bus technology, home owners can activate their home theatre, lighting, close their curtains and even control their air conditioning from a single control point,” said Samuel “The sleek and ultra-modern design from ULTI (a concept launched by Clipsal in 2003) makes it the perfect choice for high-end luxury hotels and resorts that seek to deliver a truly unique experience for their hotel guests. Available in a variety of finishes using materials such as glass and high-grade metal, the ULTI is highly flexible and is able to fit seamlessly into your décor.”
