Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd has announced that its oil and gas subsidiary Adyard Abu Dhabi LLC has been awarded a $4.5-million contract by Glasgow-based VWS Westgarth Ltd for the fabrication of two modules - an SRP module and a utility/chemical injection module.
The contract involves the fabrication, loadout and transportation of the two modules to Dubai Drydocks for installation on the FPSO Vitoria. The eventual location of the floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) will be the Espirito Santo field in Brazil. The work will be executed in Adyard’s 80,000 sq m waterfront facility in Mussafah over a period of seven months. The contract marks the entry of Adyard into the international market for the fabrication of FPSO topsides.
Jim Masterton, general manager, Adyard, stated: “The contract, which is expected to commence immediately, was won against fierce international competition and, considering that this was our international debut in bidding for the fabrication of FPSO topsides, we are confident that there will be more FPSO related fabrication work to follow.”
Adyard is an oil and gas services company specialising in heavy fabrication, onshore and offshore projects, rig refurbishment and maintenance workshop services.
VWS Westgarth Ltd was formed after Veolia Water Solutions and Technology, purchased the water and wastewater business of Weir Techna. Weir Westgarth Ltd was then subsequently renamed VWS Westgarth Ltd and is a major specialist in the provision of sulphate removal packages to the oil and gas industry.
Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd is one of the leading UAE-based oil and gas services companies.
