Al Shirawi stands in front of the new warehousing and distribution centre

A new Dh130-million  ($35.3 million) ware-housing and distribution centre at Dubai Investment Park will open at the end of April.

Khalid Al Shirawi, executive director of Global Shipping and Logistics (GSL), said the first phase of the project, which will be completed by that time, comprises two state-of-the-art buildings within 100,000 sq m of mixed-use storage.
“We are getting very excited as the first phase nears its conclusion, as this will add a new dimension to warehousing solutions in the UAE and will provide a exceptional option for customers seeking qualified logistics partners with on-site management capabilities,” he said.
“The new facility located close to the new Jebel Ali Airport has already attracted interest from a number of local and multi national companies, particularly those with diversified business interests which could range from frozen foods to furniture and who are looking for a multi-offering from one location,” he added.
GSL expects to announce its first customer in the coming few weeks, ahead of the official opening.
The company is part of the Al Shirawi Group and was one of the first to invest in the new Dubai Investment Park. It is also planning a major investment in Dubai Logistics City.
Global Shipping & Logistics is a part of the UAE-based Al Shirawi Group.
