A major trade exhibition will be held in Bahrain for Asian companies following the signing of an MoU between the Bahrain Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BCEB) and a Hong Kong company.

The first Asia Expo Bahrain will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from June 12 to 14.
The agreement was signed in Hong Kong by Commerce and Industry Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro and Kenfair International (Overseas) president Herbert Ip.
Dr Fakhro said the primary objective of the international trade show was to reinforce Bahrain’s position as an efficient entry point and distribution platform for the larger Middle East and Gulf region.
The exhibition will serve as a marketing and promotion tool for manufacturers and suppliers from all Asian countries, especially those involved in consumer electronics, electric and electronic appliances, home and household goods, gifts, toys, fashion jewellery and other related consumer products.
Trade visitors targeted for this event are importers, regional distributors, wholesalers and sales agents from the Arab World, Middle East, North and East Africa, Central and Western Asia.
The event will be supported by a series of seminars as well as product promotions. Some of the topics that will be covered are customs procedures and import regulations, free trade infrastructure and trade financing.
Dr Fakhro said he believed the event would enhance Bahrain’s reputation as an international trading platform and strengthen trade relations with Asian countries.
The event will also create opportunities for local and regional traders to team up with international companies as their local distributors and agents, he added.
The agreement was signed at a reception hosted by Dr Fakhro to mark Bahrain’s National Day. Dr Fakhro was in Hong Kong heading a delegation attending the sixth World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial Conference.
