Fujitsu Siemens’ brand recognition is very high

In a first-of-its-kind agreement, the leading European IT manufacturer, Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), partnered with Agility to open a state-of-the-art assembly plant in Dubai in March 2006.

The 1,500 sq m assembly plant is located at Agility’s Jebel Ali Free Zone facility and is modeled after FSC’s ultra-modern German production facility in Augsburg. It houses all the machinery, procedures, methodology and quality control as its German counterpart.  Agility is responsible for the transportation of components, assembly, storage and delivery of computers to FSC customers in the Middle East.
Through its partnership with Agility, Fujitsu Siemens delivers PCs to the region within an average time of five to eight days – nearly 50 per cent faster than they did before the partnership. By utilising Agility’s integrated supply chain solution, comprising freight management, transportation, warehousing, assembly, order fulfillment and distribution, Fujitsu Siemens has significantly reduced its product order life cycle.  The plant can assemble around 100,000 PCs a year.
Agility utilises its global network of over 450 offices in 100 countries to acquire components from around the world.
Their services also include tracking of the product order cycle right from the supplier to the customer. The assembled PCs are delivered as per order from Dubai to overseas markets including 13 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
“This not only saves time but also cuts down on cost by following a better distribution model, availing of a number of value-added services and ultimately gaining complete customer satisfaction,” said Stephane Rejasse, managing director, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens.
