New product from Jotun

Pearl is designed for interior use only

Jotun Paints has unveiled its latest decorative product offering named ‘Pearl.’

Announcing the new paint, the company said  it provided a whole new concept in decorative effects by creating a unique Mother of Pearl finish for interior walls. It was released across the Middle East from June 2006.
“Pearl’s distinct high-quality shimmer responds to the positioning and intensity of any light source or intelligent lighting solution, allowing the soft wavy effects normally found in a real pearl to shine through,” a Jotun statement said.  “Adding a new dimension in terms of interior solutions Pearl can provide a dramatic or subtle backdrop to match any designer’s objectives,” it added.
Linda Al Tarifi, regional interior concept manager, Jotun Paints, commented: “This product is going to enable designers to achieve something that currently no other product can. When applied correctly, Pearl can be combined with intelligent lighting to create a lustrous or tranquil backdrop for a room, enabling designers to use interior walls as a design asset, impressing clients who are better informed of special finishes and are more demanding of them. In addition, the product has practical benefits which will make it a popular choice, easy to clean and environmentally friendly.  We anticipate it will be a popular finish for contemporary hotels, apartments and villas.”
Available in four-colour ‘families’ named Retreats, Expression, Feng Shui and Agency, Pearl is anticipated to be a successful decorative offering from Jotun Paints premium range. Each family of colour includes four shades all of which aspire to a particular mood and character, allowing the customer’s aspiration to be the colour guide. In addition to the 16 standard colours, Jotun’s multicolour machines can provide a further number of tints and shades of the revolutionary finish.
“In today’s market there is a trend for muted metallics, symbolising the modern day we live in and its textures. As well as allowing designers to incorporate an extra feature in terms of wall finish, Pearl will also add a new perspective in terms of lighting solutions,” said Al Tarifi.
The new paint, which is a high-quality water borne product, has been designed for interior use only.
