Saudi Arabia-based Aljazeera Paints was adjudged the best exhibitor at the recently concluded 11th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition in Bahrain.
It edged out Aramco in second place and Sabic, the third-best exhibitor. There were 47 multinational and GCC companies displaying their products and services at the event. Abdullah Al-Mahrous, a member of Nace, the organisation of corrosion engineers, presented the award to engineer Saeed Baomar, Aljazeera Paints’ technical support manager.
An Aljazeera statement said the company’s pavilion received high-level officials from some of Bahrain’s ministries as well as representatives from many top local and global companies all of whom, it said, appreciated the strides Aljazeera had made in bringing technology-driven industrial paints to regional markets within a short span. “Because of its quality approach and impressive track record, visitors wanted to start commercial relations and exchange advisories to build a strong relationship,” it added.
Aljazeera chairman Mohammed Abdulla Al Romaih stressed the importance of exhibitions and conferences saying they were windows through which one could look at what was going on and size up the market. The Bahrain exhibition afforded the company a practical way to analyse strengths and weaknesses, plan strategies and outline goals, he added. The company had displayed models and demonstrated systems for protecting structures that easily corroded and lost their structural integrity. This kind of degrading caused huge losses to owners and was also harmful to the environment, Al Romaih said.
He cited products guaranteed to provide long-lasting production including the Aljazeera zinc-rich epoxy primer, Jaz epoxy, MIO, Aljazeera polycoat finish, Jaz epokote 26 and Jaz under-water epoxy.
The company also showcased a coating model which protected marine constructions such as bridges, platforms and seaports and which were developed to bear all mechanical pressures such as friction, waves and abrasions in the tidal and splash zone. Also displayed were high-quality marine paints that protected vessels above the waterline and the immersed part and which were safe and long lasting. It said they had certificates from laboratories such as Germanischer Lloyds, TNO, WRAS and COT confirming they were free of environmentally unsafe materials forbidden internationally but that they also provided effective performance. The Aljazeera statement said the certifications confirmed the company’s concern for the environment without compromising on quality. The company’s approach was to uphold quality, service and business ethics. The company had also received the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications for environmental management and quality management respectively.
