AMI lobby furniture: the company has expertise in various sectors

Ongoing projects and a good first-half performance have put Abu Dhabi Medical Industries (AMI) on track to overtake its 2004 turnover.

AMI, which specialises in the indigenous manufacturing of laboratory, medical, educational and school furniture, achieved sales of more than Dh10 million ($2.7 million) in the first half of this year against Dh12 million in the whole of 2004.
The company is currently doing projects worth Dh20 million in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Sudan and Yemen and is expecting big contracts from overseas, says general manager K Kesavan.
“AMI is also in the process of expanding its production facility and mechanising most of the work besides recruiting technical personnel,” says Kesavan.
It recently launched kindergarten furniture.
The company is looking at introducing more new products and widening the export base.
AMI undertakes all types of contracts for the complete management and installation of turnkey projects. In recognition of its quality and services, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented it with the Sheikh Khalifa Award
 “Our extensive expertise and professionalism enables us to understand and meet the detailed requirements of all our customers,” says Kesavan.  All work relating to estimation and engineering drawing is carried out at the company’s office with the help of the latest CAD drafting techniques, he adds.
   AMI offers a versatile range of lab furnishing systems, allowing flexible options to choose.  “While combining quality with performance, beauty and ease of operation, AMI provides various options to suit individual requirements, applications and budgets for every type of lab, whether industrial, educational, clinical, research or general science.
The AMI product range comprises fume cupboards, fume hoods, laminar flow cabinet, laboratory benches, titration tables, balance tables, storage units, reception and registration counters, nurse station counters, vanity units, trolleys, specialised hospital units and all related accessories.
Some of the projects AMI has been involved with include Al Mafraq Hospital clinical laboratory, Al Ain Hospital extension, Adnoc Petroleum Institute laboratories, laboratories for schools in Dubai and Northern Emirates, research labs at various healthcare centres in the Northern Emirates, hospital furniture for the Department of Health, Dubai; Schlumberger, American Hospital Dubai, GHQ Armed Forces - Abu Dhabi, Takreer, Dubai Police Academy, Apollo Hospital Dubai, Kalba Hospital, Advanced Biotechnology Centre in Dubai, Kuwait Veterinary Lab in Kuwait, Bahrain University, Bahrain Defence Force, Ministry of Education in Oman and Qatar Petroleum.
