Abu Dhabi-based IHI UAE is currently executing one of its largest projects in the UAE.

Worth Dh25 million ($6.8 million), it involves the construction of two 550 T/H boilers in Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Station L.  The project is Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s largest power generation and desalination project so far and one of its most important ones for expanding current capacity substantially.
The station will be equipped with the most advanced control and monitoring units and technologies for gas and thermal emission reduction to protect the environment.
The company’s scope of work includes the fabrication and supply of LP Steam pipes, supply of boiler structures, ducts, pressure vessels, various types of pipe supports and mechanical and electrical installations of boilers.
Another major project recently completed by IHI UAE was the Umm Al Nar Rehabilitation of Chlorination Plant.
“Business in 2004 was much better than in 2003,” says S Yokoyama, general manager, IHI UAE.  “Last year sales were around Dh 28.1 million against Dh11.3 million in 2003. “We have plans to expand to the maintenance and operation areas and we are actively participating in the tenders,” says Yokoyama.
