Abu Dhabi-headquartered Sultan Bin Rashed (Sultaco) expects good business this year with the surge in construction activities in the UAE.
Business was marginally up last year compared with 2003, according to a spokesman for Sultaco. However, the company is projecting greater growth for 2005. “Due to the increase in demand for our products throughout the Emirates we are investing in more qualified staff,” says a spokesman. “Secondly we will be moving our offices, thus creating more showroom space at our head office in Abu Dhabi. The whole showroom area will be renovated in line with our new showroom in Dubai.
Sultaco has also recently secured an agreement with Tarkett, its flooring partner to offer all types of floor covering materials. The company says it is now in a position to offer a total solution for specific applications such as offices, healthcare, shops, schools, hotels, housing and transportation.
The company’s industrial kitchen and laundry division, started a few years ago, secured many projects this year,” says the spokesman.
Sultaco was founded in 1968 and is a locally owned trading company. Over the years, the company, known for its technical capability, has acquired a reputation for being one of the leading suppliers to the building industry. It has delivered products to many prestigious projects.
The main office is located in Abu Dhabi with branches and showrooms in Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain. Three large warehouses ensure substantial stocks are continuously available to cater for most needs.
Bathroom fixtures and fittings are one of the largest product lines on offer at Sultaco, where major world-renowned brands are available such as American Standard and Ideal Standard Europe. Along with these multinationals, Sultaco also represents other manufacturers providing various ancillary and complementary items.
Kitchens, both industrial and domestic, form a very important division of Sultaco. Ilsa, Imesa and Ata (Italy) form the backbone of industrial kitchens while Rational (Germany) and Four Seasons (UK) are prominent in domestic kitchens. The company provides a comprehensive service from initial planning, designing, preparation and installation. A qualified staff provides full technical backup with many years experience in these fields.
The ever-increasing demand for sports, parquet and vinyl flooring led to Sultaco’s partnership with one of the world’s leading manufacturers, Tarkett Flooring. Having represented Marley Floors (UK) for over 30 years, Sultaco has the capability and expertise to supply and install big and small projects alike.
Sultaco’s other divisions are equally proud to offer such familiar brands as Marley Plumbing (UK), suppliers of PEX system and PVC pipes for both under and above ground drainage. HDPE piping comes from Akatherm, Holland.
Other brands it represents are Grace Servicised (UK) for waterproofing and Serviwrap (UK) for pipe wrapping. Imper (Italy) compliments the waterproofing department with their torch-applied system.
The ceramic tiles it offers are among the best in contemporary bathroom creations from Europe’s top designers. On offer are products from quality suppliers such as Cisa (Italy), Ceramicalcora (Spain) and Jasba (Germany), together with special, luxury-market oriented tiles from Agrob Buchtal-Residential (Germany).
