The expansion in its operating base follows stronger business performance. The company realised a turnover of more than Dh 90 million ($24.5 million) in 2004 against Dh 64 million in the previous year.

Adyard is a group company of Topaz Energy and Marine SAOG, popularly known as Team and is listed in the Oman Securities Market. The company was formed in the year 1996 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Butti.

“Adyard’s engineering practices are in accordance with internationally recognised standards and practices,” says the spokesman. The company uses some of the most advanced engineering packages in its design and drafting. These are PV Elite, STADD PRO, Cadwork, Tubecam, Autocad 2000i, and Microstation. It follows various internationally accepted engineering codes and practices such as ASME SEC I, II, VIII, ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, BS 5500, BS 5950, NACE, ANSI, API 1104, API RP2A etc. Adyard has excellent track record of utilising various materials such as CS, LAS, SS, Duplex, Inconel and Cu-Ni among other things
 Adyard’s fabrication facilities are located in Mussafah and are spread over an area of 80,000 sq m, with a covered area of 3,000 sq. m. The facilities include a 300 m waterfront and a 110 m jetty with a water depth of 6 m at extremely low tide. The jetty is reinforced to accommodate cranes for load out and repair of drilling rigs.
The facilities are fitted out with two overhead cranes, each 25 tonnes, with 8 m hook height, to service the 25 m by 84 m fabrication workshop. Within these facilities there are dedicated electrical, valve, rotating equipment and machine shops and also an instrumentation calibration laboratory.
The Adyard facility is equipped with some of the largest pipe profile cutting machines in the Middle East and it specialises in the manufacture of large-diameter pressure vessels, piping, heavy structures, and large-size tubular sections. The company has developed more than 160 qualified weld procedures to meet the stringent fabrication requirements of its varied clientele.
 “Adyard is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company and the quality of products and services is assured through rigorous implementation, effective monitoring and a continuous update of its fully-certified ISO 9001 system,” says the spokesman.
“Possession of ASME U, U2, S, PP, and NBBI R certifications ensures that its capabilities and expertise in the design, fabrication, testing and vessel repair are comparable to internationally recognised standards.
Safe working conditions in the fabrication facilities and at every remote location are of utmost importance to all Adyard staff, the official said, adding that the company had put in place a team of dedicated and fully trained safety professionals operating under the guidance of a QHSE manager.
