Riyadh-based Dyrup Paints announced the launch of three new paints for the interior design sector and the release of two augmented products during a dealers’ conference recently.

It also said it would expand the distribution network to include more regions and distributors within Saudi Arabia. The plans are to grow the network to more than 100 distributors.

The new products are Lavigato with a pigment for special effects; Perla, designed to create a sparkling wall finish; Stampa, an acrylic-based paint to create a pattern effect.

The augmented products released were Marblesque Plus and Dlaze Plus.

“Univest is a growing force in paint technology and we can expect a lot more,” a company statement said.

Dyrup Paints is owned by Univest (United Industrial Investments Company), a fully Saudi owned firm which also owns the advanced international technology used for manufacturing quality paints.

The paint firm was launched in 1976 with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Riyadh. Over the years it has evolved to become one of the leading manufacturing companies in terms of technology and innovation.

Dealers and associates attending the conference, where the new paints were introduced, were updated on the company’s ambitious marketing and production plans for 2010 and the next phase, a company statement said.

Significant role
Ali Alyan, managing director of Univest, highlighted the significant role that dealers played.

“They are the real face of the company, and at this point the company is concerned about building a strong relationship with its distributors as genuine partners.”

Mohammed Mowffaq Balish, Univest district sales manager, said the attendance and enthusiasm of the distributors encouraged the company to launch more specialised products and strengthen the brand’s footprint in the paint market.

“The new products will further support the growth of the construction sector in the country,” said marketing manager Mohsen Jaffri.

“The Saudi economy is still growth-oriented and large projects are commissioned almost every day and they all need high-quality paint.”
