Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has signed six new contracts with a total value of Dh3.13 billion ($852 million).

The signing took place during the water and electricity show Wetex.

The first contract, worth Dh250 million, was signed with ABB for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of three 132/11 kV substations.

The second contract was signed with Areva T&D SA to supply, install, test and commission three  132/11  kV substations in various areas in Dubai including Dubai Investment Park , Jebel Ali Industries Area, Mutina and Kifaf at a total cost of Dh1.03 billion.

The third contract was signed with Ducab Dubai to supply 11 kV XLPE power cables of a length of 800 km. The contract value was Dh260 Million.

The fourth contract went to Ghantoot Gulf Contracting for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of glass-reinforced epoxy water transmission pipelines and associated works at various locations in Dubai emirate (167 km). Cost of the contact is Dh820 million.

The fifth contract, valued at Dh300 million), was awarded to Saudi Modern Co (Riyadh cables) to supply, install, test and commission a plant of 132 kV cables for  132/11  kV substations.

Under the sixth contract, valued at Dh470 million, Siemens will supply, install, test and commission 400/132 KV substations at Mamzer Beach.

Signing the contracts with the various parties was Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa.
