

A new online company for investors called DLJdirect-eUnion has been launched in the UAE.
The company, which has its regional marketing office in Dubai Internet City, brings together DLJdirect, an online broker in the US; Capital Union, a Bahrain-based investment and merchant banking organisation; and Webtrade e-Ventures, an e-commerce company focusing on the development of online financial services serving Arabic-speaking markets.
Investors can access the service via the Internet at www.DLJdirect-eUnion.com.
DLJdirect-eUnion currently provides access to US equities and mutual funds. The company plans to offer access to additional products and markets in the near future.
The charges for investing in US equities are $20 for Internet trades and $40 for trades placed over the phone with registered brokers.
The company will offer its services in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE and Yemen.
