
LG Electronics hopes to increase its growth in the region this year with the company's entry into the mobile phone segment. LG Electronics, a leading producer of premium brand brown goods, white goods and multi-media products, notched up Middle East and African sales of $720 million last year, a 21 per cent increase on 1998. LG, which has a subsidiary in the Jebel Ali Free Zone as well as 10 branches and seven subsidiaries throughout the Middle East and Africa, says it will enter the regional mobile phone market in the final quarter of this year.
