The region’s aviation sector has grown considerably

Aircraft mainte-nance company Goodrich has opened up a $25 million facility in Dubai following a surge in the Gulf’s aviation industry.

The company’s facility, located at the Jebel Ali Free Zone, was inaugurated during the Dubai air show.
Goodrich, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, expects to earn around $6.6 billion in revenues in 2007. The 115,000 sq ft facility will serve Goodrich’s growing list of Middle East clients operating commercial and military aircraft.
A company statement said: “The new site is strategically located to serve our EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) customers and provide a range of services which span Goodrich’s diverse original manufactured equipment. It is all about enhancing the speed and ease of doing business by providing the right assets in the right place at the right time.”
Goodrich seeks a bigger slice of the growing military MRO market in the Middle East. It also sees potential business in US and UK military aircraft travelling through the region.
