Al Janahi: pricing policy competitive and value-linked

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) attributes the free zone’s success to its customer-centric approach and competitive value-linked pricing policies.

Ibrahim Al Janahi, its senior vice president, commercial sales, says customer satisfaction was at the very core of the free zone’s policies, and everything it did was based on extensive research and an assessment of clients’ needs and requirements.
“This, coupled with our commitment to continuously improve services that provide our customers the ease and freedom to do business with minimal red-tape, is what drives the volume and value of sales from year to year. Jafza is estimated to have seen growth of more than 10 per cent in the first half of this year,” Al Janahi says.
When it comes to pricing, Jafza follows a very competitive value-linked pricing policy offering an ‘unmatched’ worth for money to its clients. This is one of the factors he says that has led to the tremendous growth of not only Jafza, but also the economy of Dubai, and the UAE.
“Jafza’s pricing and sales policy are customer-focused and value-driven. Our prime aim is to provide the best value for money to our clients. Part of the dynamism of the organisation comes from our customer-centric approach, which forms the very core of our mission and vision.”
Commenting on the initiatives taken by the free zone to boost commercial sales, Al Janahi says “Jafza pursues a well-studied and focused promotional plan to attract global investors to join the Jebel Ali Free Zone and to capitalise on the emerging business opportunities in the Middle East’s rapidly growing affluent markets.”
Jafza’s yearly well-researched promotional plan includes participation in important trade and business-specific exhibitions, seminars and road shows in the target countries. These, on-ground initiatives, are supported with appropriate awareness-creating media campaigns.
Aggressive marketing and awareness campaigns, road shows and participation in exhibitions and trade shows are some of the avenues through which Jafza spreads awareness about its facilities and services. Besides this, there are a number of Jafza representative offices around the world, which help it spread its message in the desired markets.
Asked to categorise the sources of income coming from commercial sales and state which categories accounted for most income, he says “a large chunk of Jafza revenue comes from leases and associated administrative and licensing fees.”
“The revenue generated from the leasing of warehouses, offices and other ready-built facilities forms the major part of the free zone’s income,” he concludes.
