Gulf Dynamic Switchgear (GDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of M’Sharie LLC, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC, has announced that it has been awarded a Dh7.1 million ($1.9 million) contract to design and supply low voltage switchgear panels to Zabeel Investments’ prestigious development projects, the Anantara Palm Jumeirah and the Tiara Residence in The Palm Jumeirah.
GDS will also supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of the switchgear panels for the high-profile projects, which will be comprised of themed buildings, residential offerings and a hotel resort.
August Schmid, general manager, GDS, said the Anantara Palm Jumeirah and Tiara Residence were part of his company’s growing portfolio of prime development projects in Dubai.
“GDS has been known for its consistent high-quality offerings and excellent customer support, which have keyed our increasing share in the UAE and other Gulf markets. We have invested considerably for the right resources, expertise and manpower to deliver world-class products and sustain our growth initiatives in the region,” said Schmid.
The Anantara Palm Jumeirah is an upscale beachfront project that consists of seven 15-storey buildings in a V formation. The buildings will have different gemstone themes: emerald, aquamarine, ruby, sapphire, tanzanite, amber and diamond.
The Tiara Residence will cover five of a seven-building stretch. Each building will have a promenade level, a garden level, a deck level, 12 typical floors and a penthouse level. The two other buildings will be for the Anantara Resort Palm Jumeirah, a 244-room hotel with 132 complementary furnished and serviced apartments.
GDS launched an expansion programme in early 2007 with investments in new production lines and larger premises in Sharjah. The expansion programme increased the company’s production capacity by 200 per cent, helping GDS make strong headway in domestic and international markets of main distribution boards, sub-main distribution boards, motor control centres, feeder pillars and street lighting panels, synchronising panels, and other custom-designed panels.
Established in 1981, GDS designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of specialised electrical products that are used throughout the Middle East in the government and private sectors. A recipient of many industry awards, GDS has completed many prominent projects, including Jumeirah Beach Package No 3, the head offices for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Rose Rotana Tower, Al Hamra Village and Textile City in Al Aweer.
