Protector Technologies has launched a new range of economic airline filter units (AFU) that enable factory airline breathing equipment to conform with breathing quality requirements for compressed air supplies. The new range is suitable for single- and two-man supply.

Mounted on a robust carrying frame that can easily be detached for wall mounting, both models feature two-stage filtration for the removal of particulates including dust and oil droplets while a replaceable charcoal element removes organic vapours. An auto-drain feature prevents the build-up of oil and an indicator provides warning of pre-filter clogging.

Spare filter elements are available and can be changed without the use of tools. Designed for use with inlet pressures in the five- to eight-bar range, the single-man unit delivers in excess of 300 litres per minute of filtered air and double that figure for the two-man unit.

Protector product manager for respiratory protection Jim Naylor said the new Protector AFUs have the capacity to supply airflows to the latest recommendations for breathing apparatus and will assist in ensuring that breathing air quality will meet the EN12021 and BS4275:1997 standards.
