Dubai-based Danube Building Materials FZCO, a leading player in the construction, interior decoration and shop-fitting industry, says its revenues have been growing at the rate of 35 per cent over the last decade.
Last year the company experienced 50 per cent growth.
In order to further consolidate its presence in the market, Danube launched its new range of laminates, collectively known as the House of Laminates, at the Dubai Woodshow 2007 exhibition held recently in Dubai. The company presented its largest collection of laminates under one roof at the exhibition dedicated to the wood industry. The House of Laminates is available in a wide range of colours, textures and finishes, dramatically increasing the choice available to interior designers and consultants, says Rizwan Sajan, chairman of Danube.
“Some of the unique finishes are leather, bamboo and the real veneer look, which combines the superiority of laminate with the texture of real wood veneer. The laminates, which come in different thickness and sizes, are designed from different locations and by leading designers.”
The brands include Royal Touché, Metallika Metal Laminates, Oberflex (real wood veneer laminates), Braided Wood Veneer Laminates and Polyrey (European collection). All Danube showrooms carry dedicated displays for the House of Laminates with specially trained staff to assist customers.
“The new collection is a testament of our dedication to provide the Middle East market with the best and the latest laminates in the world. The award-winning quality of these products has won adulation and acceptance from architects and interior designers as well as consumers worldwide,” says Sajan.
The Dubai Woodshow 2007 featured manufacturers, traders, suppliers and distributors of plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, parquet, paper products, treatment products, wood processing and wood machinery. The event was attended by timber merchants, interior designers, furniture manufacturers, carpenters, architects, engineers, wholesale dealers, retailers, building material manufacturers and construction suppliers.
“The show is an important part of our overall strategy to widen our circle of contacts, to exhibit our latest offerings in a three-dimensional way and to enable us to interact with key persons in the industry from the UAE and the Gulf,” says Sajan.
Based in Jebel Ali, Danube is a single-source provider for all construction needs with an extensive range of products and the largest ready stock in most segments, which allows it to procure any-size orders in the shortest time.

It operates from its head offices in a 285,000 sq ft facility in Jafza north and 365,000 sq ft area in Jafza south, which includes warehouses, logistics, kiln drying and a factory.
