Abu Dhabi Medical Industries, popularly known as Amilab, recently added another feather to its cap when it attained ISO 9001: 2000 certification.

The company has also started expanding its wings by opening a branch recently in the US, according to its general manager, Dr K Kesavan.
Amilab is a pioneer in manufact-uring laboratory, medical, dental, educational and other furniture. The range includes safety cabinets, computer labs, fume cupboards, lockers and toilet cubicles and the products are manufactured in the industrial city of Abu Dhabi, which has convenient access to ports and airports.
A leader in the design, development, production, installation and servicing of furniture and fixtures, Amilab enjoys huge support from the Al Mazroui Medical Group of Companies – the parent company.
With its state-of-the-art high-tech production facility coupled with in-house R and D and a stringent quality control system, the company has gained contracts from across the Middle East, especially Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Libya and Yemen, besides the UAE.
Amilab says it is committed to expanding its range of products. It lists its UAE clients as the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, oil refineries, Schlumberger, Adnoc and Dubai Municipality.  Elsewhere, its clients include the University of Bahrain, Qatar Petroleum and Kuwait Veterinary Lab as well as ministries in Kuwait, Oman, Yemen and Sudan.

Amilab is a member of the Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association (SEFA) US.  Having implemented appropriate systems and procedures, the company has been successful in winning the Sheikh Khalifa Industrial Award (Bronze) consecutively over the past few years and hopes to get the silver award.
