PWC Logistics, a leading global provider of integrated supply chain solutions, was recently awarded the BS7799 certification designed to help organisations manage and minimise information security risks.
PWC Logistics is the first logistics company in the Middle East to receive this certification.
The BS7799 is a standard for information security management. The certification process involves an onsite audit by British Standards Institution (BSI) for relevant IT security procedures and practices based on the size and type of business an organisation runs.
Kristamsetty Murali, IT security manager at PWC Logistics, remarked: “Compliance with this standard helps PWC Logistics by reducing business risk through controls set in place to minimise security threats and builds employee awareness towards confidentiality of information.”
PWC Logistics successfully identified and implemented the controls required for its operation and secured the certificate of registration to the standard.
Ghassan Farra, chief information officer at PWC Logistics, explained: “As we expand and grow our customer base globally, we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of our customers’ valuable information. The BS7799 certification highlights the hard work of our management and employees and emphasises our continued efforts in ensuring information security. We look forward to maintaining the BS7799 security standards in the coming future and assuring our customers the utmost safety of their information assets.”
