Hadeed upgrade contract for HP
Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed), a Sabic wholly owned company, recently concluded a contract with Hewlett Packard (HP) to upgrade basic facilities of the computerised operations at the company’s complex in Jubail Industrial City.

Saleh Al-Hajiri, supervisor, operations platforms in Hadeed, said: “HP is a leading company and a strategic partner of Hadeed’s operations and has proven high proficiency in setting computerised operations solutions.”

CA to bring in experts
Computer Associates (CA), one of the world’s largest management software companies, says it will bring regional and international experts to introduce new solutions in the security, storage and SMB areas at Gitex 2005 in September.
CA will be celebrating its first anniversary in the region around the time Gitex takes place. The event will be held from September 25 to 28.

Motorola deal
Wataniya Maldives, a subsidiary of Middle East-based Wataniya International, has inked a deal with Motorola for the supply and installation of Motorola’s GSM, Edge and ‘Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC)’ solutions across the 200 islands in the Maldives.
“This Motorola deployment enhances the range of services that we can offer, building additional value into the mobile network,” said Mr. Ahmed Y Haleem, chief executive officer of Wataniya International.

Licence for Pella
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan has signed an agreement with Pella for Telecommunications Communications, awarding it a licence to provide fixed line services, international calls VoIP and internet services.
Pella is owned by Fastlink, one of the Jordanian GSM operators.
