FileNet, a leading provider of enterprise content and business process management solutions, has introduced the latest version of its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, FileNet P8 3.5, in the Middle East.
The new version allows organisations to address a broad range of content, process management and compliance needs.
FileNet P8 3.5 features Content Federation Services (CFS), which enables the software to integrate and manage a broad range of content from both FileNet and non-FileNet content repositories. CFS allows customers to manage all content in their organisations from a single enterprise content catalogue, improving business processes and mitigating compliance risk across the enterprise, while reducing IT complexity and costs.
“FileNet P8 3.5 solution differentiates itself by its ability to catalogue all content across the enterprise and apply business process management capabilities to improve productivity and business performance,” said Lee Roberts, chairman and CEO of FileNet. “The enhanced Content Federation Services functionality contained in FileNet P8 has allowed us to deliver the industry’s first genuine Enterprise Content Management platform in FileNet P8 3.5.”
Recent research has shown that more than 75 per cent of companies continue to support multiple repositories of content within their organisations, while 43 per cent of large organisations have more than five repositories. This has resulted in an increased market demand for content federation.
“To deploy ECM solutions across the enterprise, businesses require more than just integration,” said Roberts. “They need to be able to federate content irrespective of where it is stored, to ensure an enterprise view of all content assets and actively manage this content.”
