Emirates SkyCargo offers new services
Emirates SkyCargo, the airfreight division of Dubai-based Emirates airline, has announced an array of new products and solutions offering choice, flexibility, transparency and speed.

SkyCargo’s new products are: priority, dangerous goods, live animals, valuables, vulnerables, perishables and courier and postal mail, it said in a press release.
Ram Menen, Emirates senior vice-president for cargo, said: “This is a significant strategic initiative at Emirates SkyCargo. It is the result of a proactive study and analysis of our customers’ future needs and is based on their feedback, industry predictions and our own assessment of worldwide trade.”

Freighter link
Etihad Crystal Cargo has started freighter services to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Initially Khartoum will be served twice weekly, Monday and Wednesday, with the Airbus A310-300 regional freighter.
This is the sixth all-cargo-destination and the third continent to which Etihad Crystal Cargo offers its services.
Etihad Crystal Cargo also reported a market share of 27 per cent at Abu Dhabi International Airport for May, making it the market leader for cargo services out of Abu Dhabi.

Big profits for Qatar firm
Qatar Navigation has posted a net profit of QR160 million ($44 million) in the first half of this year, up 122 per cent compared to QR72 million during the same period last year. Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani said the results were a positive reflection of the growth in Qatar’s economy.
The company, he said, showed a significant increase in both operating profit and income from investments.

Adnatco fleet revamp
The Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company (Adnatco) plans to acquire new ships to replace its ageing tanker fleet, said the company’s chief.
“We have sold three old vessels. The company is currently in the process of selecting a PMC (project management consultant) for ship acquisition,” said Sultan Al Muhairi, Adnatco chairman.
