Aveva, a leading supplier of engineering IT systems for the process, power, and marine industries, recently announced that CB&I, one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, has signed a global licence agreement to implement and deploy its Vantage Project Resource Management (VPRM) solution.

“Aveva is providing CB&I a direct interface between the VPRM materials management system and the company’s existing 3D engineering solutions, Aveva Plant Design Management System (PDMS), and Intergraph’s Plant Design System (PDS),” an Aveva statement said. “CB&I’s focus on reducing project risk, improving project delivery, and delivering increased value to its customers formed the key business drivers in deploying Aveva’s VPRM solution.”
Louay Dahmash, regional director, Middle East, Aveva, said: “Today’s complex EPC environment requires solutions that are fully scaleable and provide robust functionality to deliver effective materials management. Our VPRM can be easily interfaced and adapted to companies’ workflow and disparate engineering systems.”
“Aveva has consistently demonstrated its thorough knowledge of and expertise in the engineering and construction industry making us the preferred partners for providing long-term engineering IT solutions and services for companies such as CB&I.”
A key factor in CB&I’s decision to implement the VPRM solution on a global scale was Aveva’s commitment to supporting ongoing systems enhancements as well as providing a real-time interface to ERP purchasing and receiving modules from Oracle, the statement said.  “CB&I conducted a detailed review of available materials management systems to seek a corporate materials management solution that would support its global project environment across multiple business operations, and integrate with its existing ERP and engineering solutions.”
