The Middle East region’s strong agri-business, floriculture, poultry, aquaculture and fishing industries were highlighted at a series of exhibitions held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
Mediac Communications and Exhibitions LLC organised the ‘Fabulous Four’ tandem events, Agri Business Expo Middle East 2005, Middle East Flower and Garden Show Gardenex 2005, Middle East Poultry Show 2005 and the Middle East Aquaculture and Fishing Show 2005.
Close to 100 exhibitors from more than 30 countries participated in the event in order to tap into the lucrative Middle Eastern markets with their ranges of innovative products. The ‘Fabulous Four’ events presented an ideal opportunity to explore new business opportunities and to platform the latest scientific advancements in the fields of floriculture, poultry, aquaculture and agri-business, said Abdulla A Abulhoul, director, Mediac.
The Agri Business Expo has played a pivotal role in the development of the agricultural sector by introducing modern technology and equipment to producers in the Middle East region. In its ninth year, the exhibition featured a wide range of agri-related products and activities including date cultivation, general farming, landscaping methods, agri-chemical use, the latest garden implements, horticultural aids and pest control methods.
Gardenex, the Middle East Flower and Garden Show, was a specialised floriculture event, featuring cut flowers, flower care equipment, flower arrangements and related areas. The event was of particular significance in Dubai with the establishment of the $300-million Dubai Flower Centre, which is a world-class redistribution hub. The show attracted exhibitors from Thailand, Malaysia, Kenya, South Africa, Holland, France, Brazil and Venezuela, and was viewed as key to the floriculture industry in the Middle East.
The Middle East has one of the largest poultry product markets in the world, and the Middle East Poultry Show was aimed at promoting the region’s booming poultry industry. Several local and international dairy, poultry and animal feed companies participated in the event, exhibiting a range of products and technologies, including the latest incubators, humidifiers, vaccine manufacturing technology and poultry processing equipment.
The Middle East Aquaculture and Fishing Show highlighted the latest fishing and fish farming methods available to producers in the Middle East. The focus of the event was on hatcheries, fish farming, fishing equipment, processing methods such as fish skinning and scaling, fish feed and diagnostic services, among other things.
The Fabulous Four event had the support of the UAE Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
