Saudi-based metal packaging manufacturer CMC, part of the Al-Watania Group of Industries, has announced it is setting up its third plant in Dubai, the first time it will have a production facility outside Saudi Arabia.
The Dubai plant, which will be ready in 2006, will be exclusively engaged in the manufacture of twist caps, a company spokesman said.
CMC, which the spokesman described as the leading manufacturer of metal packaging in the Middle East, is an ISO-certified company. It has two other factories, one in Riyadh and the other in Jeddah.
“Having built the foundation of a successful manufacturing concern with the establishment in 1976 of a modern factory in the heart of Riyadh covering a built-up area of 30,000 sq m, CMC progressed to set up the second factory in the port city of Jeddah in 2002. And the quest does not end there. The third state-of-the-art factory for the exclusive manufacture of twist caps is coming up in Dubai in 2006,” the spokesman said.
“We have been consistently able to produce containers of the highest quality and reliability, customised to individual customer needs and catering to diverse packaging requirements,” he said.
The company has invested in modern coil cutting, coating, multi-colour printing machines, high-speed, fully automatic body-making and fabrication equipment, an in-house design and pre-press section and a quality control laboratory with the most sophisticated equipment, he said, adding the company had on its rolls trained manpower selected from all corners of the globe. It also had the invaluable experience of 30 years of operations.
“Our product range is diverse to encompass all segments of the metal packaging industry (including three-piece cans) and we have been successful in delivering true value addition to our customers’ products with the wealth of our knowledge, skill and acumen,” the spokesman said. He listed segments where he said customers would vouch for CNC’s total commitment and service.
The segments are:
Food: Round necked-in and oval-shaped cans of capacities 6 oz to 5 kg for tomato paste, juice, cheese, milk products, dates, vegetable, confectioneries and other liquid and powdered foods.
Paints & Chemicals: Drums and pails of 10- to 25-litre capacity for all well-known names in the global industry.
Oil & Lubricants: Rectangular and round-shaped cans of 1- to 5-litre capacity for all international brands.
Aerosol: Necked-in cans of diameter 52 to 65 mm of various heights for pesticides, insecticides, shaving products, deodorants, air fresheners and various other sprays.
Twist Caps: For caps of diameters ranging from 38 to 82 mm
Components: Printed sheets, lids, bottoms, ends, rings, necks, caps, and handles for other can manufacturers.
