USBs talk directly

USB devices that can talk directly to each other without the aid of a PC will become available soon as manufacturers start to implement a new standard, says a Personal Computer World report.

The USB on-the-go (OTG) standard means, for example, that digital cameras will be able to dump image files directly to a USB hard disk or print them out. Sitecom has launched its Copybox, which allows transfer of video, music and images between USB devices.
